A few lawn care forums recommended a product with Bifenthrin as one solution. So I came to Amazon, and decided to give this Bifen a shot.This product should be used with great care according to all I've researched about it, so I made sure to use the proper protective gear (gloves, mask, goggles, proper clothing). According to the label, the most you'll need is about 2 tbsp per gallon of water. With the 96 oz bottle I bought, that will go a long way. Per the directions on the bottle, I watered my grass first to help the product drip into the thatch once applied. Then I sprayed the entire lawn with the product. Now, I'm waiting 30 days to see if I need to reapply to kill any chinch bugs that weren't hatched yet. One additional benefit is all the mosquitoes that used to attack me in my yard are all gone. I spray it around the base of my home 2-3 times a year and I've seen 4-5 bugs in the house over the three years I have lived here. If you spray an ant mound, they don't move, they die. I had a yellow jacket nest at the base of a tree and I soaked it and ran; they're dead. This is the only product I've used that will kill carpenter ants, just find the trail or hole they travel through and the next day there will be a pile of dead ants. Spiders and roaches take the hardest hit from Bifen, the label says 2-3 weeks, but well over a month of dead bugs are not uncommon. Back when I sprayed Bifen for a lawn chemical company, we mainly used it for armyworms, mole crickets, and ants. NOTE- IF YOU HAVE A BAD INFESTATION OF ARMYWORMS IN YOUR LAWN, ALL CONCRETE AND PATHWAYS WILL BE COVERED IN DEAD GOOEY WORM GUTS THE NEXT DAY. Thought you should know. My outside building got sprayed the most and the infestation got much worse out there. It did nothing for the ants in the yard, nothing for the roaches, nothing for the fleas, and I waited a couple months and kept trying it,nothing. I finally decided to put a little in a jar with some bugs, they're still alive and kicking. |
